Cleveland Public Library and MetroHealth are joining forces to promote a healthy and safe Cleveland and prepare the Library for COVID-19.
“COVID-19 has forced all of us to rethink the way we live, work and relate to one another. MetroHealth has been a key partner in the Library’s journey to reopening,” said Felton Thomas, Jr., Executive Director and CEO of Cleveland Public Library. “From proper mask wearing to disinfectant procedures and thermometer usage, MetroHealth has helped educate, train and counsel Library staff about the pandemic and how to prepare and protect themselves and the community.”
“MetroHealth is pleased to partner with Cleveland Public Library to reopen safely and provide programs for the health of our community,” said Dr. Akram Boutros, President and CEO of The MetroHealth System. “More than ever, Cleveland needs institutions that unite and inform us, lift our spirits and challenge us to work for all in the community. The Library and MetroHealth have been doing that for more than 150 years.”
“Whatever our community needs, the Library can always count on MetroHealth to help us deliver quality services for our patrons,” Thomas, Jr. remarks.
Cleveland Public Library is approaching its reopening with an abundance of caution to ensure we create an environment for our staff and patrons to remain safe. Patrons can visit cpl.org for a list of programs, services, and to reserve the next great movie or book for the entire family.
Together, Cleveland Public Library and MetroHealth are working for a better, healthier community.
MetroHealth reminds everyone that prevention is the best defense against the coronavirus. Everyone is encouraged to wash their hands, wear masks in public and maintain a safe distance of others.
“And, don’t forget to be kind and read more books,” adds Thomas, Jr.
