Cleveland Public Library is celebrating the launch of a major renovation and expansion project in the heart of the Tremont neighborhood.

On Saturday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m., Library leadership, city and community leaders, and other dignitaries will break ground on the Jefferson Branch project at its current location at 850 Jefferson Avenue.

Williams Architects and Wanix Architects collaborated on the Jefferson Branch expansion that will make room for a 24-hour vestibule with book lockers, a second branch entrance, and an expanded staff area. Renovation plans for the historic Carnegie Library also include gender-inclusive restrooms; a laptop bar; small meeting rooms; a larger children’s area; and a teen nook.

This will be the third of four groundbreakings in two months. Cleveland Public Library will build or renovate every neighborhood branch over the next decade. For updates on the construction projects, visit courbanize.com/collections/cpl.
