“Not being used to photographing strangers, I approached this
project with some nervousness. But what I found were people
from all walks of life excited about our city and the project.
This reaffirmed my sense of pride in living in Cleveland with
my fellow Clevelanders. Working alongside incredibly talented
students, I believe and hope that the portrait project will show
the diversity, pride, and joy of Clevelanders experiencing the
