The Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood, which includes Gordon Square and Edgewater Park, is located on Cleveland’s northwest side. The neighborhood is bordered by Ohio City to the east, Lake Erie to the north, and the Cudell neighborhood to the west. Gordon Square, the neighborhood’s anchor intersection at West 65th St. and Detroit Ave. was named for William J. Gordon. Gordon was a wealthy landowner who also donated his lakefront estate, Gordon Park, in the Glenville neighborhood.
