Story times for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 include stories, songs, activities, and rhymes specially designed to support reading readiness and foster the social and emotional skills that kids need to succeed as they enter Kindergarten.

LegalWorks at Cleveland Public Library

LegalWorks is a non-profit organization that provides legal consultation and assistance for qualified, low-income youth and adults in underserved communities. Areas of assistance focus on legal issues that prevent people from moving forward in their lives, including expungements, sealing records, obtaining certificates of qualified employment, clearing outstanding warrants, restoring driving privileges, and other select legal matters. Service is availabe at four library locations by appointment only. Young Scholars' Academy Transitional

4:30 PM – 5:30 PM | Mount Pleasant

The Young Scholars' Academy Transitional is a kindergarten readiness program for scholars ages 4-6 (Entering Kindergarten Fall 2024) and their parent(s) or other adult family members. The lessons are based on the Ohio Department of Education Learning Standards and are engaging for scholars while providing parents with researched-based tips that support learning opportunities at home.

About Mt. Pleasant

The Mt. Pleasant campus offers free WiFi and public computers with Internet access. Printing, copying, scanning, and faxing services are available for a fee.

History & Architecture

The Mount Pleasant Branch had three previous addresses before finding its current home: 3335 East 118th Street, as a station in 1923; 13512 Kinsman Road in 1928; and 13700 Kinsman Road in 1930. Originally a bank, the current building was remodeled in 1937 for Cleveland Public Library, giving residents access to a 10,300-square-foot-facility. A one-story club room was added to the rear of the building in 1949 and the branch was remodeled again in 1981.
