World of Puppets ExhibitTime is running out to enjoy The World of Puppets: From Stage to Screen at Cleveland Public Library. The exhibit located in Brett Hall on the first floor of Main Library will close Saturday, November 30 with world-renowned sock puppet Lamb Chop. Mallory Lewis, the daughter of the late puppeteer and ventriloquist Shari Lewis, will present A Lamb Chop Celebration at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the Library’s Louis Stokes Wing, located at 525 Superior Avenue in downtown Cleveland. Lewis will honor her mother’s achievements over the last 6 decades through song and dance. “Lamb Chop and I are so excited to be coming to Cleveland! We are thrilled to be performing our favorite show – a true multimedia tribute to my mom,” said Mallory Lewis.

A Lamb Chop Celebration is the kick-off to Winterfest at Cleveland Public Library. It’s a FREE entertaining, fast-paced show for the entire family. Little ones to those just young at heart will be treated to vintage footage of Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop in action. “In our show, not only will there be music and comedy, you’ll hear lovingly curated stories about Mom and see some of my favorite Shari and Lamb Chop clips through the decades. Whatever hairstyle you remember Mom sporting, I promise you will see footage from that era – your era,” said Lewis.

Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop’s visit marks the end of The World of Puppets: From Stage to Screen which showcases more than 100 traditional and modern puppets, artifacts and popular characters from theater, film and television. The exhibit is part of the Library’s year-long celebration of its 150th anniversary. “Cleveland Public Library is committed to providing services to children and exposing our community to cultural performances,” said Dr. Sadie Winlock, Chief Equity, Education, and Engagement Officer at Cleveland Public Library. “The World of Puppets: From Stage to Screen celebrates the history of puppetry through educational, hands-on activities.”
